The Denton Community Market will feature farmers, artists and live music in Downtown Denton starting April through November. Visitors may purchase a variety of vegetables, coffee or handmade jewelry all of which support local family owned businesses. Celebrating its ninth year, the market aims to reduce barriers of entry for new entrepreneurs and small businesses. The market also accepts WIC and SNAP benefits so that recipients of these programs may have the opportunity to enjoy the produce offered by vendors. The market will take place every Saturday from 9a.m. to 1p.m on 317 W. Mulberry St. For more information email info@dentonmarket.org.

Twilight Tunes! Summer Series

Bring friends, bring family, maybe grab something to eat while enjoying live music while the sun sets over downtown Denton. The Denton Main Street Association proudly presents their annual summer concert series, promoting local Denton bands and musicians. Always beginning on the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square lawn, admission is free to everyone. The 2018 series promotes an eclectic assortment of music to kick off the weekend at the Square. Twilight Tunes takes place every Thursday between April 19 through June 28, 2018 at 110 W Hickory St., Denton, TX. Performances usually start by 6:30 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. on the lawn. My Leadership Journey with Kelly Reese

Consider your own career advancement goals and personal leadership path as you join us in an informational session with a leader from your campus on Thursday, May 10. Listen while they share their personal experiences and reflections on their career, including their transition into a leadership role. During My Leadership Journey, participants will be able to hear their speaker's personal thoughts on leadership and participate in an open Q&A. This session will be led by Kelley Reese, UNT Associate Vice President, University Marketing and Relations. UNT Block Party 2018

Join UNT graduates, families, and the entire UNT community for the celebration of the year at UNT Block Party on Friday, May 11. This free event will feature live music, games, giveaways, photo ops. Free food will be provided that will include both vegan and vegetarian options. Food trucks will also be on-site with items available for purchase. The event will conclude with a toast to graduates, followed by fireworks and the UNT Alma Mater at dark. Graduates are encouraged to bring their tassels and UNT ID to receive a free graduation gift and to be entered into drawings. The block party will take place at the University South Lawn and Library Mall from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Parking is free and available to guests in the lots along Welch Street, in the Highland Street parking garage, and in the Fouts Field lot. Heritage Fishing Day at South Lakes Park

Join the Sportmen's Alliance Foundation for a day of fishing and fun May 19 out at South Lakes Park. The Sportmen's Alliance Foundation's philosophy is to protect and defend American wildlife using conversation programs. Kids will get the chance to learn interesting new fishing techniques for casting, knot tying, and fish handling and cleaning, all while also learning about conservation methods of the outdoor heritage.
